Hyderabad: On Wednesday, Jayesh Ranjan, the Special Chief Secretary of State Tourism, announced plans to host the Bathukamma festival with grandeur by coordinating efforts across all departments.
A meeting at Begumpet Haritha Plaza Hotel gathered insights and suggestions from senior officials on organizing the upcoming Bathukamma festival in 2025.
Jayesh Ranjan highlighted the importance of the festival, which celebrates nature. He emphasized incorporating feedback from all departments to ensure the festival reflects Telangana’s cultural traditions, aligning with government guidelines. Celebrations are planned in Hyderabad and some districts of Warangal. The festival will showcase Telangana art forms and aim to enhance its international reputation.
Discussions included ideas on festival posters, traditions, management, the role of self-help groups, and art exhibitions. The state government will allocate more funds than before to elevate the festival’s prestige. All departments will collaborate to make the festival more comprehensive and effective.
The meeting included officials like Sonibala Devi from the Sports Authority, Divya Devarajan from SERP, Harichandana Dasari, District Collector, Kranthi Valluri from Tourism Corporation, Joel Davis, Additional CP (Traffic), Mangodi Harikrishna from the Culture Department, Special Officer Kishan Rao, and other officials from GHMC, HMDA, and the Police.
