Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka announced plans to create awards for innovative farmers to honor the late Chief Minister Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy. A foundation named after YSR will be set up to manage and run these programs.

During YSR’s birth anniversary, the Deputy Chief Minister placed flowers at his statue in Banjara Hills. He mentioned that by YSR’s upcoming death anniversary, a detailed plan will be prepared to recognize experts in agriculture, researchers, and contributors to the sector’s growth. These individuals will receive awards named in YSR’s honor.

Deputy Chief Minister Vikramarka highlighted YSR’s enduring legacy and the ongoing commitment to his vision. He noted that YSR is closely associated with agriculture and irrigation projects, which aimed to channel water from major rivers into farmlands. He expressed that YSR’s loss is deeply felt, and his absence is irreplaceable for the people of the two Telugu states.
