Hyderabad: The Telangana Drugs Control Administration has urgently advised stopping the use of Almont-Kid Syrup. This syrup, used for children’s allergies, hay fever, and asthma, has been found to contain Ethylene Glycol (EG), a dangerous substance. The alert came from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) in Kolkata after a lab report confirmed the syrup as contaminated. The public is strongly advised to stop using this syrup immediately and report it to the nearest Drugs Control Authority.
Officials across Telangana have been instructed to inform all retailers, wholesalers, distributors, and hospitals to halt any sales or distribution of the affected batch. They must ensure the product is not sold under any circumstances.

The Administration is actively taking steps to manage the situation and protect public health. Citizens are urged to be cautious and avoid using this product to prevent any health risks from Ethylene Glycol. The affected batch number is AL-24002.
