In Hyderabad, a software engineer named Sai Vardhan Reddy suffered a neck injury on Saturday, January 10. The accident occurred when a Chinese Manjha cut his neck as he rode his bike towards the Uppal metro station. Bystanders quickly took him to the hospital, where he is receiving treatment.
The Hyderabad police have cautioned residents to avoid purchasing the dangerous “Chinese Manjha” as Sankranti approaches. They have begun efforts to stop its sale.
This incident in Uppal follows another recent tragedy. On January 8, a 4-year-old boy named Srihas in Telangana’s Jagtial district also suffered a neck injury from Chinese Manjha. He needed 20 stitches after being hurt while trying to catch a kite during a visit to his grandmother for the Sankranti holidays.
Srihas was initially treated at the Metapally Government Hospital and later transferred to a facility in Nizamabad for advanced care. His family is calling for strict measures against the sale of Chinese Manjha.
