The State government of Telangana is planning to create a “One Man Judicial Commission” to implement a recent Supreme Court judgment on the sub-categorization of the Scheduled Caste (SC) community.

A Cabinet Sub-Committee, led by Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy, held a meeting to discuss this. The committee recommended that the State government form the commission as a step towards implementing the court’s ruling.

The sub-committee also looked at how similar one-man commissions were set up in other states like Punjab, Haryana, and Tamil Nadu before implementing SC classification there.
