Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan has requested a report on a rape incident in Mirpet. A 16-year-old girl was gang-raped by three individuals in Nandanavanam Colony. The Governor has expressed shock and ordered the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, and Rachakonda Commissioner of Police to submit a detailed report within 48 hours. The Red Cross Society representatives of Ranga Reddy district have been instructed to provide immediate assistance and support to the victim’s family.

The girl, who had recently arrived in Meerpet with her brother, was staying with her elder sister after their parents passed away. She works at a garment shop in Dilsukhnagar, while her brother makes flexis. On Monday at 9 am, when the girl was at home with her brother and three other children, eight individuals forcefully entered their house. Four of them, under the influence of drugs, threatened the girl with a knife.

The girl managed to escape after screaming loudly. Her sister learned about the incident and reported it to the Mirpet police. A case has been registered, and an investigation is currently underway. The girl has undergone a medical examination at the Sakhi Center.

The victim’s brother has informed the police that one of the accused, Tyson, is a known troublemaker residing on the lower floor of their building. He also mentioned that two other accused individuals live near their residence. The police have detained the four individuals and are currently interrogating them. They are actively searching for the remaining suspects. This incident has caused significant uproar in the local community.
