Governor highlights women’s empowerment as key to State’s progress

Governor Highlights Women’s Empowerment for a Resilient Society

Hyderabad: Governor Jishnu Dev Varma has stressed the importance of empowering women to create a strong and sustainable society. Speaking on the subject, he said, “Empowering women is crucial for a sustainable future. The Telangana government is committed to providing equal opportunities and fostering an environment for their success. Women entrepreneurs are key drivers of economic growth and vital to the State’s progress.”

During his visit to WE Hub, India’s first State-led organisation for women entrepreneurs, the Governor praised Telangana’s efforts in supporting women in business. He noted, “Telangana has been a leader in supporting women entrepreneurs, and WE Hub embodies this commitment. Initiatives like the Mahila Shakti and Mahalaxmi Schemes, along with the Skill University, demonstrate this dedication.”

State IT Minister D Sridhar Babu also highlighted the government’s focus on equipping women with the necessary tools to transform their ideas into successful ventures. He said, “Education, skill development, and mentorship are essential to building a thriving ecosystem. We are especially focused on empowering women from tier 2 and tier 3 regions, whose contributions are shaping the future of our State and beyond.”

Sita Pallacholla, CEO of WE Hub, shared her thoughts on the organisation’s mission. “As India’s first State-led nodal organisation dedicated to supporting women entrepreneurs, we carry a great responsibility. We measure our success through the success stories of the women we serve. Our goal is to ensure that our efforts reach every woman, whether in urban areas or the remotest parts of Telangana. This is not just a promise but a commitment to empowering women across the State.”

WE Hub continues to play a pivotal role in fostering an inclusive ecosystem for women entrepreneurs in Telangana, setting an example for other States in India.
