Hyderabad: The Bonalu festival kicked off with enthusiasm in New Delhi. Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma offered a special ‘Bangaru Bonam’ to the goddesses.
The Lal Darwaja Simhavahini Temple Committee organized the event at Telangana Bhavan. Governor Varma, as the chief guest, began the festival by lighting a ceremonial lamp. He then carried a Golden Bonam on his head, offering it to the goddess, while traditional dancers and drummers performed energetically.
After the offering, special prayers were held, followed by the opening of a photo exhibition. The Temple Committee Chairman, B Maruti Yadav, honored the Governor. The event saw participation from Telangana Bhavan Resident Commissioner Dr Shashank Goyal, Temple Committee Convener J Aravind Kumar Goud, General Secretary Posani Satish Mudiraj, and former committee chairmen K Venkatesh, K Vishnu Goud, and A Manik Prabhu Goud. Other notable attendees included A Chandra Kumar, A Vinod Kumar, and Seshu Narayana.
