Hyderabad: BRS senior leader T Harish Rao has criticized the State government for the slow progress in relief efforts following the SLBC tunnel accident. Speaking on Sunday, Harish Rao urged Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to launch a detailed investigation into the incident and to support the families of the affected workers.
He pointed out that the accident happened 50 days ago and blamed the government’s negligence for the tragedy. Harish Rao said that despite the time that has passed, there has been no real progress in helping the victims or their families. He stated that eight workers’ lives were put at risk and their families are still suffering, which he called a heartbreaking situation.
Harish Rao also accused the Congress-led government of failing to properly rescue the trapped workers. He said that only two bodies have been recovered and the government has not taken further responsibility. He added that the Chief Minister has not handled the situation seriously and focused more on publicity than action.
He further criticized the government for not taking safety precautions during the tunnel work and for not acting quickly after the accident happened. According to Harish Rao, the government has done little beyond visiting the site, and he called for urgent and meaningful steps to support the victims and prevent such incidents in the future.
