Adilabad: On the occasion of Children’s Day, District Collector inaugurated a special programme called “Health School” at Tamsi Zilla Parishad Secondary School on Thursday. The event began with the garlanding of Nehru’s portrait and the lighting of a lamp.
The Health School programme aims to help students stay healthy, avoid diseases, and adopt a healthier lifestyle. It also focuses on building students’ self-confidence and social skills.
The Collector explained that this programme has started in all high schools, KGBV institutions, and Inter colleges in the district. Every week, different topics are covered. For example, every Tuesday, students will learn about the importance of nutrition. Every Wednesday, they will be taught how to manage stress, and on Thursday, they will learn about the dangers of drugs.
On Friday, the focus will be on preventing common diseases. On Saturday, students will be introduced to six key principles of personality development.
Since it was Thursday, the students received information on the harmful effects of drugs and narcotics. The Collector encouraged the students to avoid bad habits, such as using alcohol and tobacco, and urged them to focus on good habits, as they are the future of the country.
He also highlighted the role of school principals in ensuring the continuation of this programme. He emphasized that students can excel in academics only if they are healthy, and this programme is designed to support that goal.
