The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that heavy rain could hit parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana today. This weather change is due to a weather system, or “trough,” that stretches from southern Madhya Pradesh to Bengal. Another trough is moving towards Karnataka from the same region. These systems are likely to bring light to moderate rainfall over the next five days.

In Andhra Pradesh, moderate rain is expected in several areas. Meanwhile, Telangana, including the city of Hyderabad, might see partly cloudy skies with light rainfall on April 16. Weather officials also mentioned that some districts could experience thundershowers, which may lead to waterlogging on roads.

The IMD also said that heavy rain could occur at one or two places. Wind speeds are forecasted to reach up to 11 kilometers per hour in Andhra Pradesh and 16 kilometers per hour in Telangana. Officials advise people to stay alert and take necessary precautions due to the possibility of bad weather.
