Heavy rain expected in AP and Telangana for three days due to weather system

A surface trough has formed over South Odisha and nearby areas, rising 5.8 km above sea level. This weather pattern stretches from 13 degrees north latitude through north-central Karnataka to the southern coast of Andhra Pradesh, leading to expected widespread rain in the Telugu states for the next three days.

The Amaravati Meteorological Centre has warned of heavy rain in Andhra Pradesh. Districts like Alluri Seetharamaraju, East Godavari, West Godavari, Eluru, Krishna, NTR, Guntur, Bapatla, Palnadu, and Prakasam may see light to heavy showers. Other areas might experience light to moderate rainfall.

In Telangana, the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has issued an orange alert for 18 districts and a yellow alert for 12 more due to possible heavy rain. Significant rainfall is expected in places like Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Mahabubnagar, and Nagarkurnool. Thunderstorms and lightning are likely across all districts. Some areas may also experience gusty winds blowing at 30 to 40 km/h, as warned by meteorological officials.
