Gadwal: In KT Doddi Mandal, senior Congress leader Mahanandi Reddy called for unity within the Congress Party. He urged party members to support Sarithamma, despite internal conflicts over B-forms, which are official party candidacy endorsements. Reddy spoke at a significant meeting of Congress workers from the Gadwal constituency held at a private hall in the district’s main area. He discussed the current political situation and future strategies for the upcoming local elections.
Reddy noted that Sarithamma lost in the last Assembly elections but insisted there’s no reason to feel defeated. He claimed Sarithamma achieved a moral victory. Reddy pointed out that various forces in the district worked against her, a candidate from the Backward Classes (BC), making her campaign challenging. He suggested this opposition shows her strength and the concern she caused among competitors.
He advised putting aside concerns over B-forms, stressing the need to unite under Sarithamma’s leadership. If the party doesn’t allocate B-forms to their group, Reddy encouraged Congress members to consider running independently. This approach aims to prove Sarithamma’s leadership strength through election results.
The meeting was friendly and strategic, focusing on rebuilding party strength for the local elections. Other key figures attending included former MPTC Padma Reddy, C. Naresh, Vadde Venkata Ramulu, and several local Congress leaders and activists.
