Hyderabad and nearby regions like Medchal-Malkajgiri and Rangareddy have experienced significant rainfall. From Sunday night to early Monday, these areas saw rain ranging from 20 mm to 46 mm, leading to chilly and wet conditions.
A low-pressure area caused steady rainfall in and around the city since Sunday night. While the center of Hyderabad remained mostly dry, heavy rain fell in parts of Medchal-Malkajgiri and Rangareddy districts.
The Telangana Development Planning Society (TSDPS) reported the highest rainfall at Hyder Nagar in HMT Hills of Kukatpally with 46.3 mm, followed by Vinayak Nagar in Malkajgiri with 45 mm.
Other notable areas with significant rainfall included Rajiv Gruhakalpa and Gajularamaram in Medchal-Malkajgiri (43.8 mm), Kushaiguda old ward office, and Cherlapally in Kapra (42.3 mm). Heavy rain also hit Kapra, Chandanagar, University of Hyderabad campus, and Shamshiguda in Kukatpally.
Meanwhile, Balapur in Rangareddy district recorded the highest rainfall at 89 mm today. In response to the severe weather, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) issued a high alert. Special centers are ready to handle emergencies.
