Hyderabad: In 2001, the Hyderabad Golf Association (HGA) received a license to use land in Naya Qila for a golf course. The Archeological Survey of India (ASI) approved this development. HGA agreed to follow ASI’s rules and paused work until the Bagh area was marked.

A few years ago, the ASI conducted a scientific study and identified where the Bagh remnants are located. This part is protected, and no construction happens there.

The golf course construction continues in the designated area under ASI’s guidance, explained HGA President BVK Raju. HGA aims to blend heritage with green spaces in the city.
