Hyderabad experienced significant rainfall, prompting officials to open the gates of Himayat Sagar and Osman Sagar reservoirs. Both were close to their maximum capacity.
On Wednesday at 5:00 pm, Osman Sagar was at 1789.00 feet, just shy of its full level of 1790.00 feet. It had an inflow of 3,400 cusecs and an outflow of 2,240 cusecs.
Himayat Sagar measured 1762.25 feet against its full level of 1763.50 feet. The inflow was 5,600 cusecs, while the outflow reached 3,963 cusecs.
Releasing water from Himayat Sagar caused significant damage to the Outer Ring Road service lane near Exit/Entry 17. This situation disrupted traffic and raised safety concerns.
