Holi, the festival of colors, was celebrated in a grand way across the united Karimnagar district. People danced, played music, and sprinkled water on each other to mark the occasion.
Priest Madhu Mahagev Sharma explained that the timing of Holi is linked to the moon, causing the date of celebration to change each year. He mentioned that the festival symbolizes the arrival of spring and the end of winter. There are two main events during Holi – Holika Dahan and Rangwali Holi. Rangwali Holi is when everyone throws colors and water, setting aside differences of caste and ethnicity.
Retired Telugu teacher Sathyanaraya Chary described Holi as a celebration of fertility, color, love, and the victory of good over evil. It is a time for people to come together, sing, dance, share sweets, and splash colors on friends and loved ones.
District Collector Pamela Satpathy, Additional Collector Praful Desai, BJP National General Secretary Bandi Sanjay Kumar, City Congress Committee President Komatireddy Narender Reddy, and City Mayor Sunil Rao all took part in various Holi celebrations held across the district.
