The Hyderabad City Police has introduced a new Internship and Professional Volunteer Engagement programme aimed at fostering collaborative and knowledge-driven policing in the city. The initiative is designed to bring together students and experienced professionals to support the police department’s innovation and organisational development efforts.

Students under 25 years of age who are currently pursuing graduation or post-graduation degrees are eligible to apply for structured internships. These internships will involve research work, analytics, and project-based assignments that provide hands-on experience in modern policing methods. The programme offers young participants an opportunity to understand the functioning of law enforcement agencies from within.

In addition to student internships, the programme also welcomes experienced professionals with technical expertise to volunteer for defined roles. These volunteers will contribute to innovation initiatives and support the organisational development of the Hyderabad City Police. The dual approach ensures both fresh perspectives from students and seasoned insights from professionals.

Selected interns will receive official certification upon successful completion of their internship period. This certification will serve as formal recognition of their contribution and experience with the police department, adding value to their academic and professional credentials.

The SMIT Cell of the Hyderabad City Police will oversee the entire programme, managing applications, selections, and coordination of internship activities. The cell will ensure that both interns and volunteers are assigned meaningful work that aligns with their skills and the department’s requirements.
