    Hyderabad, May 23, 2025: In a prompt and decisive action, the Hyderabad City Police arrested a man for harassing a woman near Nalla Pochamma Temple in Banjara Hills on the night of May 20, 2025. The incident occurred while the woman was waiting for her husband, and she was reportedly subjected to verbal abuse and threats by a passerby.

    The woman, demonstrating presence of mind, immediately reached out to the Hyderabad Police WhatsApp Helpline (94906 16555) to report the incident. Responding swiftly, police officers from Khairatabad Police Station registered a case and began an investigation.

    The accused, identified as Shaik Abdulla, was traced, apprehended, and taken into custody. He was later produced before the Hon’ble 1st Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate at Nampally, who ordered 14 days of judicial custody.

    The Hyderabad City Police issued a strong statement, reaffirming their zero-tolerance policy towards harassment and assuring the public—especially women—that any such incident will be dealt with firmly and without delay.

    “We remain fully committed to ensuring the safety and dignity of women across Hyderabad. If you experience or witness any incident of harassment, please report it immediately,” a spokesperson said. The police urged citizens to dial 100 in emergencies or use the official helpline numbers for immediate support.
