The Warasiguda Police in Hyderabad arrested a fake doctor on Saturday who had been illegally practicing medicine for over a year without any valid medical qualifications. The accused, identified as Nannuta Madhav, a 42-year-old resident of Warasiguda and native of Bhupalpally, was caught red-handed during a decoy operation conducted by the city police. The illegal medical practice was being run under the name Madhava Medical Shop in the Warasiguda area.
According to police officials, the accused is an Intermediate-failed individual who does not possess any medical, clinical, or pharmacy credentials. Despite having no formal medical training whatsoever, Madhav had been treating patients and administering injections to unsuspecting citizens. He had cleverly misused the drug license belonging to his friend, Kunta Archana, to run his unauthorized medical business and make easy money by exploiting the trust of innocent people.
Acting on credible intelligence regarding his illicit medical activities, the Warasiguda Police planned and executed a swift decoy operation to apprehend the fake doctor. A head constable in plain clothes approached the accused posing as a patient seeking medical treatment. While Madhav was attempting to administer an injection to the undercover officer, the police team raided the premises and caught him in the act.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to practicing medicine illegally for the past year. He admitted to administering scheduled injections such as Diclofenac and TT (Tetanus Toxoid) to patients without any valid doctor’s prescription. The police seized illegally stocked Diclofenac and TT injection vials along with a Samsung mobile phone that was used for his business transactions based on his voluntary confession.
The Sub-Inspector of Warasiguda Police Station seized all the illegal medical supplies and equipment from the premises. A criminal case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of law. The police have initiated a detailed investigation to determine the full extent of his illegal operations and whether any other individuals were involved in the racket.
The incident has raised serious concerns about the safety of patients who may have received treatment from the fake doctor over the past year. The police are working to identify individuals who may have been treated by Madhav during his illegal practice. The unauthorized administration of injections and medicines without proper medical knowledge could have led to serious health complications or even fatal consequences for unsuspecting patients.
The Hyderabad City Police have issued a stern warning that stringent legal action will be initiated against unauthorized individuals practicing medicine and endangering public life. The department emphasized that such illegal activities will not be tolerated and those found guilty will face the full force of the law. The police are urging citizens to report any suspicious medical practices in their neighborhoods to prevent such fraudulent activities.
The Warasiguda Police have issued a public advisory appealing to the general public to remain vigilant about their health and seek medical treatment strictly from qualified Registered Medical Practitioners (RMPs/Doctors) at authorized clinics and hospitals. The Inspector of Police (SHO) of Warasiguda Police Station under the Secunderabad Zone has urged citizens to verify the credentials of medical practitioners before seeking treatment to ensure their safety and well-being.
