The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) aims to introduce 235 more electric buses in Hyderabad by the end of the year. Currently, there are 265 electric buses operating successfully in the city, attracting many passengers.

Charging facilities are already available at Cantonment, HCU, and Miyapur depots. New charging stations are under construction at Raniganj and Hayatnagar. At the Hayatnagar depot, 55 electric buses are in service, with plans to add another 55. Raniganj is expected to have 100 buses soon. A new charging station is also planned for Kukatpally.

Electric buses are more cost-effective, costing only ₹8 per kilometer, compared to ₹20 per kilometer for diesel buses. This makes them an environmentally friendly and economical choice.
