Hyderabad is set to welcome its first fully automated multi-level parking facility in Nampally, courtesy of Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd (HMRL). This state-of-the-art 15-floor building will accommodate 250 cars and 200 two-wheelers, featuring cinemas and a city-viewing gallery. It uses cutting-edge German technology, becoming India’s first pallet-free automated parking system, ensuring a quicker and more efficient parking experience.
The entire parking process is automated. Drivers use a QR smart card to enter, position their vehicle on a rotating turntable, and the system automatically parks and retrieves the vehicle. This setup prioritizes safety and convenience, especially for the elderly, women, and differently-abled individuals.
NVS Reddy, the Managing Director of HMRL, highlights that this initiative will enhance parking conditions, introduce new tech standards, and alleviate traffic congestion in Hyderabad. The facility will open its doors soon, following necessary government approvals.
