Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Protection Agency (HYDRA) has issued notices to Marri Laxman Reddy Institute of Technology and Management (MLRITM) and the Institute of Aeronautical Engineering (IARE) in Dundigal.
These colleges are accused of building their facilities within the buffer zone of the Chinna Damera Cheruvu, a nearby water body. The colleges are owned by M Shashidhar Reddy, a BRS MLA from Malkajigiri, and his family.
HYDRA has requested the college management to provide an explanation within 15 days. They have also been told to make alternative arrangements for running the colleges.
If the colleges do not comply, further action will be taken. Previously, officials inspected the area and some buildings constructed within the buffer zone were already demolished by municipal authorities.
