The India Institute of Technology, Hyderabad (IIT-H), hosted an award ceremony to celebrate the achievements of young leaders at the Model G20. The event took place at the Technology Research Park, IIT-H, and was attended by Amitabh Kant, the G20 Sherpa of India, and K Sanjay Murthy, Secretary, Higher Education. Prof B S Murty, director of IIT-H, and other guests were also present.
During the ceremony, Prof Chandrasekhar Sharma shared the journey of the model G20 initiative, and Prof Rajendra Singh Dhaka thanked the participants. In his welcome address, Prof Murty expressed IIT-H’s commitment to fostering innovation and excellence among young leaders. He mentioned that IIT-H has supported over 150 startups, which have created revenue and jobs. He also highlighted the selection of 75 innovators across the country to promote a culture of innovation.
Sanjay K Murthy praised the initiative and IIT-H’s contribution to the National Education Policy. He mentioned projects like SWAYAM and DISHA that enhance digital public infrastructure. He emphasized the importance of collaboration for global success.
Amitabh Kant, in an electronic message, expressed his gratitude to IIT-H and INYAS for organizing the Model G20 competition. He mentioned that the initiative engages students from thousands of colleges and institutions to discuss global challenges and policy issues.
Overall, the award ceremony celebrated the accomplishments of young leaders and their efforts in finding innovative solutions for a sustainable world.
