Nagarkurnool: Authorities made a major bust in the fight against illegal liquor on Saturday afternoon. The State Task Force (STF) from Hyderabad stopped a van near Eandabetla, located on the outskirts of Nagarkurnool, and discovered a large amount of materials used to make illicit alcohol.
The operation began after the STF received a tip about illegal liquor being transported. Led by Sub-Inspector Balaraju, the team stopped a Maruti Omni van around 3:50 PM. The vehicle was coming from Hyderabad and heading toward Nagarkurnool.
Inside the van, officers found 432 kilograms of black jaggery, 10 kilograms of alum, and 5 liters of country-made liquor, also known as natu sara. These items are commonly used in the illegal production of alcohol.
The man transporting the materials was identified as Gubba Shivakumar. He was taken into custody, and the seized items were handed over to the Nagarkurnool Excise Station for further action.
Excise Circle Inspector Kalyan confirmed the seizure. He said strict steps are being taken to stop the spread of illegal liquor in the area.
The STF team involved in the operation included officers Hanif, Sai Kiran, Kaushik, Nithin, and Shankar, all working under SI Balaraju’s command.
Authorities continue to crack down on illegal liquor networks to protect public health and uphold the law.
