Nagarkurnool: Authorities carried out a major raid against the illegal liquor trade on Saturday afternoon near Eandabetla, located on the edge of Nagarkurnool.
A team from the Hyderabad State Task Force (STF), led by Sub-Inspector Balaraju, acted on a tip-off. Around 3:50 PM, they stopped a Maruti Omni van traveling from Hyderabad toward Nagarkurnool.
Inside the van, officers found 432 kilograms of black jaggery, 10 kilograms of alum, and 5 liters of country-made liquor, also known as natu sara. These items are commonly used in the illegal brewing of liquor. The person transporting the materials was identified as Gubba Shivakumar.
The STF handed over the seized items to the Nagarkurnool Excise Station. Excise Circle Inspector Kalyan confirmed the confiscation and said strict action is being taken to stop the spread of illegal alcohol in the area.
The successful operation involved STF members Hanif, Sai Kiran, Kaushik, Nithin, and Shankar, all working under the leadership of SI Balaraju.
Officials emphasized their commitment to cracking down on unauthorized liquor production, which poses serious health and safety risks to the public.
