Kollapur, Mahabubnagar – A sudden fire broke out at the State Bank of India (SBI) branch in Kollapur on Sunday, causing panic among staff and customers. The fire reportedly started because of a suspected electrical short circuit during business hours.
Witnesses said smoke began rising from the electrical panel area. In minutes, flames spread inside the bank, leading to confusion and fear. Bank staff acted quickly, evacuating everyone inside. They immediately called the fire department for help.
Firefighters reached the scene without delay. They managed to control the fire before it could spread to nearby shops and buildings in the busy commercial area. Thanks to their quick response, the situation didn’t turn worse. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident.
Preliminary findings suggest the fire started due to a short circuit, but officials are still investigating. A detailed report will follow once the inspection is complete and the damage assessment is done.
Bank officials confirmed that all important records and customer data are safe. They credited their digital systems and backup protocols for protecting critical information.
Authorities are expected to issue an official statement soon with more details about the fire and any further steps.
