Union Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Development of North Eastern Region, G Kishan Reddy, talked about India’s ancient tradition of promoting well-being and freedom from diseases in his speech at the third G20 Health Working Group meeting. He highlighted India’s pride in being a trusted partner in saving lives and safeguarding livelihoods around the world. The country’s traditional knowledge systems of Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani, and Yoga promote preventive and holistic well-being for all. Hyderabad will establish an Unani Research Centre to showcase its commitment to traditional health knowledge systems.

The Prime Minister envisions India as a hub of Medical Value Travel (MVT). The Union Ministries of Tourism, Health and Family Welfare, Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, Homeopathy, Naturopathy, and Civil Aviation are collaborating to ensure India realizes its full potential. India ranks among the top 10 countries chosen by people worldwide for health and wellness tourism. Hyderabad contributes approximately one-third of the global vaccine production.
