The Indian School of Business’s Bharti Institute of Public Policy has signed an agreement with the Goa government to work together on evidence-based policy making in the state. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in the presence of Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. The agreement aims to improve social and economic indicators through workshops, capacity building, and citizen-centric initiatives.

As part of the collaboration, the Bharti Institute will partner with the Goa Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development (GIPARD) to conduct workshops for state officials. They will also work with the Department of Information Technology to create the Goa Open Data Portal, which will provide access to open data for citizens and promote digital governance.

Additionally, the Bharti Institute will focus on tapping into the state’s bioenergy reserves and supporting forest-based communities. They will coordinate activities across departments and agencies to attract private investment, secure forest tenure, promote women-led and community-owned enterprises, and provide market linkage.

The partnership will also include a Legislative Support Programme to strengthen the capacity of the Goa Assembly. A Legislative Research Fellowship will be launched as part of this program.
