A team from the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) praised the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) for its Transferable Development Rights (TDR) and ‘Build Now’ policies. Anandi, the JDA Commissioner, led the group, including Planning Director Preeti Gupta, IT Advisor R.K. Sharma, Assistant Town Planner Rushikesh Kolte, and IT Deputy Director Pankaj Sharma, to visit GHMC on Thursday to learn about these effective urban planning strategies.

At the GHMC headquarters, Commissioner R.V. Karnan welcomed the delegation. He gave a comprehensive presentation on the TDR Policy, focusing on the major features and advantages introduced in 2017. Karnan also discussed ‘Build Now,’ a single-window platform for building and layout permissions, highlighting how these policies have eased land acquisition for government projects in GHMC areas.

According to Karnan, these policies have brought more transparency, efficiency, and accountability to civic services. They have also shortened the time for permission processes and improved rule enforcement. The JDA team appreciated GHMC’s policies and plans to adopt similar systems in Jaipur to boost city management and public service access.
