A team from the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA), headed by Commissioner Anandi, visited the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) office on Friday. They aimed to learn about metropolitan development and planning practices. Metropolitan Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmed and other senior officials warmly welcomed them at the HMDA headquarters in Ameerpet.
Sarfaraz gave a detailed presentation on HMDA’s development projects. He explained the ongoing master plans, road development strategies, and land pooling projects. The grand Hyderabad Metropolitan Area – 2050 plan was a key focus, featuring a Comprehensive Mobility Plan, an Economic Development Plan, and a Blue-Green Infrastructure Plan. He mentioned the use of a GIS-based base map to manage the entire metropolitan area.
Additionally, Sarfaraz discussed the creation of a 3D Digital Twin for important urban areas in Telangana and the development of new Comprehensive Building Regulations. He highlighted the importance of exchanging knowledge between organizations to adopt successful models and enhance urban governance focused on people.
The JDA team praised HMDA’s forward-thinking planning and technical initiatives, expressing appreciation for the thorough information shared.
