Former Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti has been sworn in as the new US Ambassador to India by Vice-President Kamala Harris. Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met with Garcetti on Thursday to discuss bilateral ties over the past decade and exchange views on the recent Quad Summit. Jaishankar expressed confidence that the relationship between India and the US will continue to grow stronger.
The Quad Summit was a meeting between leaders from Japan, the US, Australia, and India, where they shared a vision of a free and open Indo-Pacific amid China’s growing assertiveness in the region. The meeting took place in Japan’s Hiroshima.
