The Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) has announced its support for 69 Congress and 41 BRS candidates in the upcoming elections. The decision is based on their ‘Ground Reports’. The organization’s political committee in Telangana clarified that they are not aligning themselves with any specific political party, but endorsing candidates based on recommendations from their local units.

The local units of JIH engaged in discussions and deliberations across the state. After thorough consultations and debates, the local units submitted their preferences for voting. The political committee then reviewed these opinions, formulated recommendations, and submitted them to the central leadership for approval.

Apart from Congress and BRS, JIH will also be supporting MIM in seven constituencies where the party has sitting MLAs, BSP in one constituency (Sirpur), and CPM in one constituency (Kothagudem). In the 2018 elections, JIH supported TRS (now BRS) but this time they have decided to go with the local preferences.

The organization has also taken feedback from civil society groups and actively involved other committees to keep the fascist forces at bay.
