    The Chairman of ISRO and Secretary of the Space Department, S Somanath, announced that ISRO will perform an important maneuver to put the Aditya-L1 into its final orbit. He made this announcement during the 12th convocation of JNTU-Hyderabad. Dr. Somanath was also honored with a Doctor of Philosophy degree by the university during the convocation.

    During his speech, Dr. Somanath congratulated the graduating students and emphasized that their success in personal and professional life depends on qualities like passion, commitment, excellence, determination, focus, and learning ability. He shared that great recognition comes from consistent effort and advised the students to stay humble and grounded even in successful situations. Dr. Somanath also mentioned that he has made mistakes but took corrective measures to fix them.

    Dr. Somanath discussed futuristic technologies and how people may soon be able to virtually experience Mars and Venus by connecting sensors to their brains. He also mentioned the successful launch of the PSLV X PoSat satellite on January 1st and stated that it is performing well. He revealed that many launches are planned for 2024, including a GSLV launch of INSAT-3DS, a climate and weather satellite.

    In his address, Prof Katta Narasimha Reddy shared that a total of 88,226 degrees were awarded to students, including undergraduate, postgraduate, doctor of pharmacy, and doctor of philosophy degrees. Additionally, thirty-six gold medals were presented to students for their academic excellence.
