Hyderabad: Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) is preparing to start evening college programs for undergraduate engineering courses. The university will soon announce the admission notification for these programs, which are specifically designed for working professionals.
JNTU will offer courses in Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Metallurgy at its University College of Engineering, Science, and Technology, located in Hyderabad. These programs will allow working professionals to join the second year of study through lateral entry, starting from the academic year 2024-25. Each course will have 30 seats available.
To be eligible for these programs, applicants must have a diploma in the relevant engineering field and should have been employed in a private or public sector job for at least one year. Additionally, they must live within a 50 km distance from the college campus to apply.
Classes for these courses will be held from 6 pm to 9:30 pm on weekdays and throughout the day on weekends. Each course requires students to complete 120 credits to earn a BTech degree from the university.
A senior official mentioned that the notification for these admissions will be released soon. Admission will be based on an entrance test.
