    Gadwal District Collector Encourages Youth to Excel in Cricket

    The District Collector of Gadwal, B.M. Santosh, has urged young athletes to strive for excellence in cricket and aim for recognition at the state and national levels. He emphasized the importance of balancing academics with sports and encouraged students to bring pride to the district through their achievements.

    On Sunday, the Collector attended the inauguration of the Share Ali Premier League – Season 2 cricket tournament as the chief guest. The event took place at the indoor stadium in the district headquarters. During his speech, he highlighted the significance of both education and sports, calling on students to actively train in the sports facilities available in rural areas. He added that the tournament would serve as a platform to discover and nurture talented cricketers from Gadwal.

    The tournament, which runs from February 2 to February 9, features six teams competing for the title. While addressing the participants, the Collector reminded them that winning and losing are part of sports. He encouraged them to stay motivated and focus on their future goals. To mark the beginning of the tournament, he released doves as a symbol of peace and even faced the first ball of the event.

    The occasion saw the presence of notable attendees, including Tahsildar Mallikarjun, District Youth and Sports Officer Jitender, Advocate Bhimsen Rao, as well as numerous players and sports enthusiasts. The event was a celebration of sportsmanship and a step toward promoting cricket talent in the district.
