Authorities in Hyderabad are taking strict action against wasting drinking water. They have started imposing fines on people who use potable water for unnecessary purposes.

Recently, a resident of Journalist Colony in Jubilee Hills was fined ₹1,000 for using drinking water to wash a car. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) issued the fine as part of their efforts to stop water wastage.

This incident comes after a similar case on March 5, when another resident of Jubilee Hills was fined for using drinking water to clean a motorcycle. Officials have been receiving more complaints about water misuse, leading to increased inspections across the city.
