Excise Minister Jupally Krishna Rao reviewed the urea stocks and supply situation in Mahabubnagar on Tuesday. He urged district collectors to work closely with officials to ensure smooth supply.
He directed officials to quickly sell urea stocks from private dealers to farmers. Cases should be filed against traders selling fake seeds and against those overcharging for urea. Strict action is needed against those creating false shortages or spreading rumors.
Rao suggested that collectors hold press conferences to inform farmers about stock availability and ease their concerns. He emphasized that private dealer stocks must be distributed correctly.
For the current crop season, each fertilizer shop, PACS, and Agro Seva Kendras should have an appointed officer with clear responsibilities. Police officials should collaborate with agricultural and shop officers to ensure no supply issues arise.
Officials should assess urea needs for the upcoming Rabi season and prepare proposals based on actual requirements. These proposals should be sent to the state government, which will then communicate with the center for necessary supplies.
