Hanumakonda: Warangal MP Kadiyam Kavya joined Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in Supaul, Bihar for the Voter Adhikar Yatra and shared her insights on the political climate. She noted that Bihar residents are moving away from the Nitish Kumar-led JD(U)–BJP alliance.
During the 16-day campaign, Kavya spoke with locals, highlighting a shift towards the INDIA Alliance. She mentioned widespread dissatisfaction due to issues like unemployment, migration, and changes in voter registration. Critics argue that the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) is unfairly removing names of Dalits, OBCs, and migrant workers from voter lists. Kavya stated, “People are tired of unfulfilled promises and feel voter suppression through SIR.”
The campaign resonated in Supaul, with locals demanding honest elections and a government that keeps its promises. Rajesh Mahto, a 28-year-old vendor, expressed concern over voter rights being compromised by SIR and emphasized the need for jobs. Sunita Devi, a schoolteacher, remarked that trust in Nitish’s government has eroded, and they seek a hopeful future.
Kavya, supporting Priyanka Gandhi’s efforts, believes the INDIA bloc is gaining traction with its focus on jobs and voter inclusion. She stressed that people desire a responsive government, which the INDIA Alliance promises. Despite BJP’s development claims, Nitish Kumar’s frequent alliance changes and voter list controversies have shaken public trust. Kavya’s observations suggest a growing favor for change, positioning the INDIA Alliance as a strong contender against the NDA for the upcoming 2025 Assembly elections in Bihar.
