    The State Government is investigating Kakatiya University Vice-Chancellor Professor T Ramesh for alleged corrupt practices. State Principal Secretary to Education B Venkatesham has ordered a team to look into accusations of misuse of funds, irregular staff recruitment, and questionable PhD awards.

    Faculty members at the university have accused the Vice-Chancellor of retaining terminated staff, making illegal transfers, and approving fake projects. It is claimed that he has shown favoritism in recruitment and PhD awards at the behest of certain leaders.

    The investigation has taken on political significance as biennial elections approach. Opposition leader A Revanth Reddy has raised concerns about the Vice-Chancellor’s conduct and promised a probe. Allegations include misappropriation of funds and encroachment on university lands by influential leaders.
