Lakshmibaraj Lift Irrigation Project Begins

The Kaleshwaram project has initiated the lifting of water with the help of four pumps and eight valves. The project, which was launched by Chief Minister KCR, aims to supply water without any interruptions. Lakshmibaraj has started lifting 13,200 cubic meters of water with six pumps from Saraswati Barrage. Additionally, four pumps are transporting 11,720 cubic meters of water from Parvathi Barrage to Ellampalli Project. The water is being diverted to the Rajarajeshwara Reservoir and the Medigadda Barrage.

The Kaleshwaram project has successfully started the process of lifting water. With the Chief Minister’s orders to ensure uninterrupted water supply, officials have taken action. On Monday, Nalla Venkateshwarlu, ENC of Ramagundam, initiated the lifting of water. Lakshmibaraj is now pumping 8,000 cubic meters of water from Nizamabad. The project is expected to significantly improve irrigation and meet the water needs of farmers in the state.

A Blessing for the Well-being

Despite a decrease in rainfall in the Godavari basin, water levels are steadily rising, ensuring the well-being of the people. The Lakshmi Barrage has seen a flow of 6,500 cubic meters per second, and the flow is expected to increase in the coming days. On Sunday, the flow reached 12,500 cubic meters per second, and on Monday evening, it reached 27,500 cubic meters per second. The continuous rise in water levels is a positive sign for the state. The current capacity of the Lakshmibaraj project is 5.5 TMC, and it is expected to increase further.

Ranganayaka Sagar Gets Water from Srisailam

Ranganayaka Sagar has already received water from the Srisailam Reservoir. With a capacity of 3.5 TMC, the reservoir currently holds 2.75 TMC of water. Officials have decided to release water from the reservoir to meet the water needs of the region. The Ranganayaka Sagar project has received 1.9 TMC of water, and it is expected to reach its full capacity soon. The pumping process has already begun.
