Hyderabad: On Wednesday, the BRS party assigned former Minister Koppula Eshwar to lead the Telangana Boggu Gani Karmikula Sangham (TBGKS). Eshwar will now oversee all union activities.
This decision emerged from a meeting at Telangana Bhavan between TBGKS leaders and BRS Working President KT Rama Rao. They agreed that the union would launch several programs alongside the party. To support these efforts, they will coordinate with party MLAs, in-charges, and former ministers in the Singareni area. The union’s in-charge will also manage the party’s Coal Mine Workers Union.
This move comes after BRS MLC K Kavitha set up the Singareni unit of Telangana Jagruthi in May.
During the meeting, it was resolved to pressure the government publicly until the Congress fulfills its election promises to Singareni workers.
KT Rama Rao emphasized that the welfare and development initiatives for Singareni workers and the Singareni Company under the BRS government should be highlighted. He mentioned that during its ten-year rule, KCR aimed to protect Singareni and public sector enterprises. “Our party not only preserved state enterprises but also opposed privatization nationwide,” KTR stated. He criticized the Congress for making unfeasible promises to Singareni workers and other groups. The BRS plans to address these issues with the workers and intends to challenge alleged Congress and BJP schemes for Singareni’s privatization.
