The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) concluded its Silver Jubilee celebrations with a valedictory meeting at Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad on April 27, 2026. Party supremo and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) presided over the high-level state meeting, which saw participation from Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), Members of Parliament, MLAs, MLCs, state executive committee members, district presidents, heads of affiliated associations, and former legislators and corporation chairpersons.

KCR arrived at Telangana Bhavan and participated in ceremonial rituals, including garlanding a deity statue, before leading the closed-door meeting. During his address to party leaders, he strongly criticized BJP MP Tejasvi Surya for what he termed as irresponsible remarks related to Telangana and expressed concern over the lack of defence in Parliament. He emphasized that the absence of BRS representatives in the Lok Sabha was clearly felt during such incidents.

In his speech, KCR stated that if BRS MPs were present in the House when Tejasvi Surya made those remarks, they would have turned it into a battleground for Telangana’s self-respect. He asserted that no one has the same commitment towards Telangana as BRS, highlighting how the party fought relentlessly to achieve Telangana with Hyderabad as its rightful capital. He described the current Congress government as a government in chaos and reiterated his party’s unmatched dedication to the state.

The meeting witnessed major organisational decisions announced by KCR. All party committees, except the state-level committee, were dissolved with immediate effect. Directions were issued to constitute new committees at all levels at the earliest, with training classes to be organised for the new committees. Full responsibility for implementing these organisational changes has been entrusted to Working President KTR.
