Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed officials to undertake comprehensive renovation of the Telangana Assembly premises, drawing inspiration from the design and facilities of the Indian Parliament. The ambitious project aims to transform the legislative complex with modern amenities while preserving its heritage value. The Chief Minister conducted a high-level review meeting with Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy and Assembly Speaker G. Prasad Kumar to discuss the detailed plans for the transformation.
A key focus of the renovation is to redesign the Assembly hall to ensure greater privacy and dignity for all members during legislative sessions. The restructuring will create a more conducive environment for lawmakers to carry out their duties effectively. Officials have been instructed to prioritize the comfort and functionality of the spaces used by elected representatives during their parliamentary work.
In a major structural update, the Chief Minister ordered the Central Hall for members to be fully prepared and made operational before the next session begins. This central space will serve as a key gathering area for legislators. Additionally, plans are underway to establish a special Members’ Club within the premises to facilitate better networking and coordination among lawmakers from different parties and constituencies.
The Chief Minister emphasized strict preservation of the current Assembly and old Council buildings during the renovation process. Officials have been directed to ensure that renovation works do not compromise the heritage value of these historic structures. The balance between modernization and conservation remains a priority in the overall development plan for the legislative complex.
New amenities will be added to enhance the facilities available to members and staff. A dedicated walking track and sports facilities will be constructed within the premises to promote health and wellness among legislators. These additions reflect a holistic approach to creating a modern legislative environment that supports the physical well-being of its users.
The renovation plan also includes a significant strengthening of the overall security infrastructure at the Assembly complex. Enhanced security measures will be implemented to ensure the safety of all members, staff, and visitors to the premises.
