Hyderabad: G Kishan Reddy, BJP Telangana State president and Union Minister for Coal, dismissed claims about BRS merging with the BJP. Speaking in Delhi on Friday, he criticized the remarks supposedly made by BRS MLC K Kavitha regarding the merger. Reddy described these rumors as a “family drama” involving “daddy-daughter, sister-brother” scenarios, asserting that it doesn’t concern the people of Telangana.
He labeled BRS as a “private limited company,” implying it holds little relevance for the public.
Switching focus to the Congress and its leadership, Reddy emphasized national unity during wartime. He highlighted national support for soldiers, regardless of political, caste, or religious differences, especially after the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. This unity led to the launch of ‘Operation Sindoor’ under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, targeting and destroying terrorist bases and Pakistani air support facilities.
Reddy criticized opposition leaders Rahul Gandhi and Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for their comments. He accused them and Robert Vadra of disrespecting soldiers’ sacrifices by focusing on irrelevant details, like the number of Rafale planes downed, instead of acknowledging soldiers’ bravery against Pakistan.
He expressed disappointment in their lack of understanding of national security issues. Addressing Revanth Reddy’s claim that Rahul Gandhi would have captured Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) if he were Prime Minister, Reddy reminded him of the Indian Army's advance to Lahore in the 1971 war and criticized past leaders for not capturing PoK. He urged Revanth Reddy to recognize who was truly responsible for PoK remaining with Pakistan.
