Hyderabad: Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy honored the memory of the Parakala Amardham martyrs on Tuesday. He described their legacy as a testament to Telangana’s fight for freedom. On social media platform X, Reddy remembered the tragic events of September 2, 1947. On this day, the Nizam’s Razakars fired on civilians gathering to raise the national flag, causing a brutal massacre.
Reddy compared this incident to the Jallianwala Bagh tragedy, highlighting its importance in resisting the Nizam’s oppressive rule. He paid respects to those who died fighting for freedom from the Nizam’s tyranny. Reddy also praised Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for his leadership during Operation Polo, which led to Hyderabad’s integration into India. “The iron man broke the Nizam’s power and gave freedom to the people of Hyderabad,” Reddy stated.
