Hyderabad/New Delhi: On India’s 79th Independence Day, G. Kishan Reddy, Union Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Development of the North Eastern Region, raised the national flag at his residence on 6 Ashoka Road in New Delhi. The event was filled with patriotic spirit, emphasizing the shared duty of building the nation.

The Minister received a ceremonial salute from CRPF officers before he unfurled the tricolor. After the flag hoisting, he handed out sweets to these officers to honor their commitment to the country.

In his speech, Kishan Reddy sent warm wishes to Indians worldwide. He noted that from village leaders to the Prime Minister, everyone was celebrating by displaying the flag at their homes, honoring those who fought for freedom.

He stressed the need to respect these sacrifices by working towards a prosperous and self-sufficient India. As the world’s largest democracy, he said, India must unite to end poverty and unemployment, focusing on uplifting all citizens.

The Minister commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his leadership, encouraging people to rally behind his vision for a stronger, more inclusive nation.

He called for setting aside political differences to prioritize national interests. He criticized divisive politics that detract from development and unity, emphasizing the importance of working together.

Kishan Reddy urged all Indians, irrespective of their political views, to help advance the nation and enhance its global position. He envisioned India as a “Vishwaguru,” a guiding light for the world.

The event was part of a national celebration, including the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, which encouraged citizens to fly the national flag at their homes. This initiative highlights a renewed sense of patriotism and aligns with efforts to promote unity and national identity.

As India marks nearly eighty years of independence, leaders across parties have called for development, inclusivity, and respect for democratic values. Kishan Reddy’s message highlighted the need for united action and reminded everyone of the lasting legacy of freedom fighters.

The ceremony ended with patriotic songs and chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” with attendees pledging to uphold the principles of independence and democracy.
