BRS party leader and former Sirpur MLA Koneru Konappa is planning to leave the party and join the ruling Congress party. He recently met with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to express his desire to make the switch. Konappa is expected to officially join the Congress party on either March 12 or March 15.

On Wednesday morning, Konappa visited the chamber of State revenue & Information minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy at the Telangana Secretariat. He spoke with media personnel present at the event, stating that he would make a decision about his political future after consulting with party workers. The BRS and BSP parties recently announced an alliance for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, but Konappa was reportedly unhappy with this partnership, leading to his decision to leave the BRS.

During the Telangana assembly elections last year, BSP’s Telangana chief R S Praveen Kumar ran against Konappa in Sirpur. Despite expectations of a close race between the two, an unexpected BJP candidate ended up winning the election. Konappa’s supporters believe that his decision to join the Congress party was influenced by Chief Minister KCR’s alliance with the BSP.
