Karimnagar – Leaders of the Munnur Kapu Sangam have called for strong unity among the Munnur Kapu community to secure their social, economic, and political rights.
Speaking at a press meet on Monday, State President Konda Devaiah Patel and State Working President Challa Harishankar Patel stressed the need for collective action. They urged community members across Telangana to join forces and push for the long-pending Patel Gazette.
The leaders raised a major concern about the ongoing census classification issues. Many Munnur Kapus, they said, are being wrongly excluded due to using surnames like Rao or Reddy. This misidentification is creating barriers that block access to rightful benefits.
They appealed to public officials like Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar and MLA Gangula Kamalakar to take up the matter with the Central Government. The leaders requested their support in ensuring the Munnur Kapus are officially recognized and included in government records.
In addition to the Patel Gazette, the Sangam leaders placed several demands before the government. These include:
– Allocation of 2 acres of land in every district for community buildings
– Creation of hostels for Munnur Kapu students
– Proper representation in government corporations
Konda Devaiah emphasized that the government will take the community seriously only when Munnur Kapus stand together as one united group. He said rights must be granted based on the population share of the community, and urged everyone to work towards this common goal.
The leaders made it clear—unity is the key to securing progress and recognition for the Munnur Kapus.
