Hyderabad: The Telangana government has paid out ₹53.64 crore to 5,364 beneficiaries who have completed the basement and wall stages of their homes under the Indiramma Housing Scheme.
Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy shared the update while reviewing progress on the scheme. He said that a total of 47,335 houses have been approved under the pilot phase of the project. Right now, construction is underway for 20,104 houses, each at different stages.
Currently, 5,140 houses have reached the basement level, 300 houses have walls, and 10 homes have completed slabs.
Despite ongoing financial challenges, the Minister assured that the state government is releasing funds every Monday. Just this week, it released ₹16.07 crore for 1,383 houses with completed basements and 224 houses with completed walls.
Minister Ponguleti held a virtual meeting with officials to monitor the fund distribution. He emphasized that all payments are being sent directly to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts in four stages, without involving any middlemen.
According to the scheme:
– ₹1 lakh is given after the basement is completed.
– ₹1.25 lakh is paid once the walls are built.
– ₹1.75 lakh is issued when the slab is done.
– The final ₹1 lakh is released upon full house completion.
The Minister urged officials to speed up construction before the rainy season sets in, ensuring timely completion of the homes for all beneficiaries.
